Irtyu

Irtyu is the Egyptian word for blue.

When I was 6, my mother was driving me and my friend, Nicole to school. While the car was moving, Nicole decided to open her door. My mom stopped the car, and put the child lock on Nicole's door. I remember looking at Nicole like, "The f*** were you thinking"

COMPARISON, CLIMATE CHANGE, and CONVERSATIONS

At the time this song was written, my friends had just become pregnant with their first child. Seeing my friends embark on that momentous journey made me consider my future. Did I want parenthood? What implications does parenthood bring in the face of a climate crisis? Do I hurt baby blue, Mother Earth, by reproducing? This song is about the first time I had a conversation with my partner about what we would do should a pregnancy happen.
